You can join this tour either from Kathmandu OR from the major cities of mainland China (Chengdu, Beijing, Chengdu and Xian). From Kathmandu, this tour can be commenced either on Tuesday or on Saturday only due to the limit flights.

This tour covers Tsedang and Samye, the ancient capital of Tibetan Kings from where the Tibetan civilization was flourished. We visit, Yongbulagong the first building built in Tibet as well as the ancient Tomb of the Tibetan Kings. We visit Samye its famous Monastery (Mindoling) en route to Lhasa. After making a two days sightseeing tour within Lhasa, we make a day trip to Ganden (Ganden Monastery) which is situated 40 km east from Lhasa. Ganden is one of the most spectacular sites of Tibet. The monastery was built in 1490 and it was once the residence of 4000 monks. Now, there are only 200 monks in Ganden Monastery.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Tibet
Fly to Gongar airport. Our guide will meet you at airport and transfer you to Tsedang. Evening tour briefing

Day 02: Tsedang tour
A full day sightseeing tour of Tsedang. We visit Yongbulagong, the Tombs of ancient Tibetan Kings and some other sites.

Day 03: Tsedang – Samye tour
From Tseadng, we drive to Samye. We visit Mindoling monatery, which is one of the important monasteries for Nyingmapa sect (Red hat sect) of Budhism. The monastery was built in 1671.

Day 04: Samye – Lhasa tour.
From Samye, we make our journey to Lhasa. Evening, we are free in Lhasa.

Day 05: Lhasa sightseeing tour:
Today we make a full day sightseeing tour of Lhasa. We visit Sera Monastery, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar.

Day 06: Lhasa sightseeing tour:
We visit Drepung Monastery, Potala Palace (the residence of Dalai Lama) and Norbulinkha Palace (the summer residence of Dalai Lama).

Day 07: Lhasa – Ganden day Tour
Early morning after we drive to Ganden. Ganden situated 40 km east of Lhasa is one of the most beautiful sites in Tibet. The monastery was once housed by 4000 monks.

Day 08: Departure from Lhasa
Early morning, we transfer you to the airport for your flight to onward destination.
